Romantic Couples Photoshoot in the Heart of Ancoats, Manchester- Emma & Sam
In January of this year, I had the true pleasure of photographing Emma and Sam's engagement photography session in the heart of Ancoats, Manchester. As a Manchester couples and engagement photographer, getting to shoot in the heart of the city brings me pure joy.
Emma and Sam first dated in Ancoats during the early days of lockdown covid. They would meet outside of Cask on Ancoats Marina. It was early January - absolutely baltic outside. They'd spend hours and hours walking around Manchester and chatting. The first time they ever went indoors together was to get some fish and chips from the Hip Hop Chip Shop in Ancoats!
One of their favourite rituals, lovingly referred to as ‘lazy Sundays,’ involves strolls around Manchester city, indulging in coffee shops, and concluding the day by serving up a comforting roast dinner at home. This sacred routine has become a cornerstone of their relationship.
For their engagement session, I wanted to emulate the essence of their 'lazy Sundays' to capture Emma and Sam authentically. Our session commenced with a coffee at Ancoats Coffee Co., then moved onto the Flat Baker to pick up some fresh pastries. After that, we moved over to Cutting Room Square and sat on the steps to Ancoats’ famous gastro pub, Edinburgh Castle.
