As a photographer, I absolutely love working with second shooters—they’re such a valuable addition to any wedding day. Full disclosure: I might be a little biased here, but that’s because I’ve seen firsthand how much a second shooter can elevate a wedding gallery. Their unique perspective and ability to capture the small moments I might miss genuinely enhance the storytelling of a wedding day, and I always enjoy editing my seconds’ images!

Coverage in Multiple Locations
If you and your partner are getting ready at separate locations, a second shooter can make sure both of your preparations are documented. While I’m with you during your morning prep, my second shooter will be capturing your partner’s moments—whether that’s the groom and groomsmen suiting up or special time spent with loved ones. This ensures both sides of your story are preserved.

A Different Perspective
Weddings are big events with many things happening simultaneously. As I’m focusing on grabbing the “Big moments", my second shooters have a real knack for finding those beautiful smaller moments between people- the way he holds the small of your back, the way your mum and dad held hands during your ceremony, the laughs shared amongst your guests.
Larger Weddings
If you’re hosting a large wedding of over 100 guests, I do recommend adding on a second photographer for the extra coverage. This will help to cover more of the guests attending as it may be difficult for me alone to capture all the moments seen on a larger scale.
