Formby Beach, Liverpool Engagement Photography Session: A Blustery Engagement Photoshoot at Formby Beach with Hannah + Liam
This January, I had the absolute joy of capturing Hannah and Liam’s engagement photos at Formby beach. I adore sessions like these, out in nature, shooting through rain and shine. Formby beach brings out a wild and free-spirited feeling and I really wanted to capture that during this engagement session.

We parked up at Victoria Road Car Park in Formby and headed straight to the sand dunes, starting with some gentle guidance and prompts from me.

Next, we moved to the beach front and I prompted Hannah and Liam to walk way ahead of me and then return. I find that prompts like these allow my couples to relax into the flow of shooting and be themselves.

As a Cheshire engagement photographer, I’m so lucky to be so nearby a range of beautiful locations to set engagement sessions at. Capturing city vibes in Manchester + Liverpool or in the case of this session, getting out in nature. Locations like Formby Beach, Macclesfield Forest and the Peak District are some of my favourites. I love the wildness of Formby, the flat plains of sea-wet sand which you can run hand-in-hand across.

It started to rain (typical of Liverpool), so Hannah and Liam took cover under a coat and I photographed some close, intimate moments.

We ended the session back at at Victoria Road Car Park, where we'd parked the car to capture some final photos as dusk settled in.
