Grange Barn is a unique and spacious converted farm barn in Cheshire, with idyllic views of the Cheshire countryside. When Chelsea inquired about having me photograph her day and told me she was having her wedding at Grange Barn, I was sooo excited…
Chelsea & Richard’s Day at Grange Barn, Cheshire.
I began the day greeting Chelsea and her bridal party who were getting ready in Grange Barn’s bridal suite, ‘The Loft’. The Loft is a gorgeous space to shoot in, it’s rustic yet modern, with loads of natural light which was perfect for my style of Photography. I got started on Chelsea’s bridal flatlay, to photograph all the little details, including a pocket watch gift for her father. I took photos of Chelsea and her bridesmaids, as well as some super cute photos of her daughter and niece!
Chelsea’s makeup look was created by the talented Chloe from @cheshiremakeupco, and complimented her perfectly. Chelsea was effortlessly cool in her dress and cape, she championed the contemporary bride look.
Chelsea did a first look with her dad and presented him with his pocket watch at the bottom of the stairs of The Loft. He then walked her down the aisle in the ceremony room at Grange Barn.
My amazing second photographer, Hannah, arrived to photograph additional angles for the duration of the ceremony and group photos. Chelsea and Richard’s daughter was a little overwhelmed by the ceremony and met her mother in tears!
After the ceremony, we shot group photos outside, using the backdrop of Grange Barn itself. I prompted Chelsea, Richard and their guests to laugh and look at each other during the group photos to help create a natural and joyful feeling to the images to avoid posed and stilted group photographs. I also managed to snap some adorable photos of the girls, who'd already gotten their dresses mucky!
The Wedding Breakfast and Speeches commenced inside the main barn, with a long bar style seating plan. I absolutely loved the fairy lights above and there was so much natural light in the barn. Chelsea & Richard were seated during the speeches, passing the mic along the top table. I found this was a really intimate and sweet way of holding the speeches, and Chelsea’s speech had everyone in tears.
Later, we shot couple portraits outside Grange Barn in the wheat fields, with the idyllic Cheshire countryside in the background.
Into the evening, the reception at Grange Barn began. Chelsea and Richard’s first dance was sweet, but Chelsea’s father-daughter dance had absolutely everyone sobbing!
